Usedom - Seaside resorts, one more beautiful than the other. Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin are still considered being the ‘Emperor’s seaside resorts’. At the end of the last century already, the nobility and aristocracy conquered the island washed around by the Baltic Sea and the backwater. Quiet fishing villages became exclusive places of entertainment within a couple of years. One sea resort after the other evolved. The island and its coast with its sandy beaches became what it still is today, ‘Berlin’s bath tub’. The green, quiet interior also benefits from the attractiveness of the sea. Those looking for rest especially appreciate the many bicycling paths and hiking trails, as well as the pleasant mixture of the salty sea air and an aromatic forest climate.
