The Europe city Görlitz / Zgorzelec located at 15 degrees longitude, owns one of Germany’s most beautiful historic city centres. Among its about 4,000 historical buildings you find the Holy Grave from the Late Middle Age, the large quarter from the period of promoterism and a noble art nouveau department store. On your way to the Neiße floodplain you find north of Görlitz, close to Zentendorf, the ‘Island of Culture - Einsiedel’ with a huge playground and a park full of scurrile wooden sculptures. Shortly before the bicycle path leaves the Upper Lausitz region, it is worthwhile to saunter through the ‘Prince-Pückler-Park’, an UNESCO world heritage in the health resort Bad Muskau. |
